College of Arts & Sciences

The principal responsibility of the Communications group is to establish and implement strategies for communicating the role and impact of the College of Arts and Sciences in the university, the region and beyond. This group encompasses advancement communications, publications, and events. The Communications group is also responsible for providing content on the College’s public website.

Nancy Joseph
The Director of Publications overees the development of publications and other written materials for the College, including the planning, writing, and production of A&S Perspectives newsletter.

Marilyn Kliman
The Senior Director of Communications oversees the creative process, strategic planning, management and administration of public relations and communications efforts for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Erin MacCoy
The Special Events & Communications Coordinator has responsibility for planning, coordinating and helping to evaluate College events that are designed to enhance public awareness of and increase private support for the College, its departments and programs. She also provides project management assistance to the Assistant Director for Alumni Relations and Community Outreach, and to the Senior Director of Communications.

Kerston Swartz
The Assistant Director for Alumni Relations and Community Outreach develops and oversees events and programs in support of alumni outreach and fundraising efforts.  Her primary responsibility is to nurture and build relationships with alumni and friends of the College through the promotion of programs, research and scholarship, often in collaboration with the UWAA or other University units.
