Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis now that the initial priority deadline of May 1st has passed. Given our time constraints, you are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible.
We are able to supply a limited number of scholarships to students eligible for financial aid. All applications received after the initial priority deadline of May 1st will be considered for scholarship if remaining funds are available. The amount of the scholarship award will be determined by the UW Office of Financial Aid.
Spanish language is not required. There are no prerequisites for the program, however all applicants must be 18 years of age by 7/23/15.

This includes all program costs, including 6 UW academic credits, room, board, in-country travel, and admission to sites and museums that we will visit as a group.
The initial cost of the program was $3,800 but, through a generous contribution from the College of Arts & Sciences, we are now able to offer the program at $2,800.
Comparison of costs associated with 6 credits on-campus:
- WA State resident tuition (room and board included *): $ 3,465
- Non-resident tuition (room and board included*): $7,392
* based on living expenses and tuition costs as estimated by the Office of Financial Aid.
Note: during the academic year as a fellow there are no additional financial costs to participate beyond the optional 1-2 credits/quarter.
Students will be responsible for other fees related to travel. These include, but are not limited to the following:
- Airfare (see below)
- UW Study Abroad Insurance ($2/day)
- Passport fees
- Other health expenses/immunizations
- Personal spending money

1,600 – 1,800* roundtrip (Seattle -> Madrid)
