The University of Washingtonâs graduate and professional degree programs were widely recognized as among the best in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Reportâs 2025 Best Graduate Schools rankings released late Monday.

Sonia Fereidooni, who earned bachelorâs and masterâs degrees from the University of Washington, was selected for the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Fereidooni, 22, will receive a full-cost scholarship to pursue doctoral work in Digital Humanities at the University of Cambridge, England. On Monday, when Washington plays Michigan for the national title, it will have been 128 days since the Husky football ride began. The UW's Sonny Sixkiller, senior associate general manager at UW Athletics, and Kyle Crowder, professor of sociology, are quoted.
