The College of Arts & Sciences invites faculty members to apply to join the Dean’s Academy Futurists. The Futurists is a small cohort of scholars with the goal of envisioning a future for higher education that is not yet known to us. Through a series of multi-day, off-site retreats, Futurists have time to reflect and connect deeply with colleagues on the most pressing issues facing the academy. Futurists will be thought partners who are in regular dialogue with the Dean.

Eligibility
Any faculty member who teaches in the College of Arts & Sciences is welcome to apply to be a Dean’s Academy Futurist.
Commitment
Dean’s Academy Futurists will serve a two-year term. They must commit to attending three retreats per year. The dates for the 2024-2025 retreats are below. Before applying, please ensure that you are available on these dates. We understand that these dates may conflict with course schedules. We hope that Futurists will be able to find coverage given the advance notice.
- First Retreat (Fall quarter):
Monday - Wednesday, November 11-13, 2024 - Second Retreat (Winter quarter):
Sunday - Wednesday, February 23 - 26, 2025 - Third Retreat (Spring quarter):
Wednesday - Friday, April 2 - 4, 2025
