Open to all instructors in the College of Arts and Sciences
On Tuesday, November 15th at 2:00pm, Cathy Davidson will hold a workshop especially for CAS instructors in the Husky Union Building. In this interactive session, Davidson will offer advice from her most recent book, The New College Classroom, on how instructors from all disciplines can improve teaching and learning. Davidson will translate cutting-edge research in learning science and pedagogy into ready-to-use strategies to incorporate into any course. These empirically driven, classroom-tested techniques of active learning—from the participatory syllabus and ungrading to grab-and-go activities for every day of the term—have achieved impressive results at community colleges and research universities, on campus, online, and in hybrid settings.
