Army ROTC

The purpose of Army ROTC is to train and commission Army officers. We are dedicated to developing character and leadership in young men and women, and seek talented individuals with a desire to lead, to serve, and to make an impact on the world.

Navy & Marine Corps ROTC

The UW NROTC unit, among the first in the nation, takes great pride in its program of mental, moral, and physical development that turns young men and women into leaders in the naval service. Be one of the few, the proud, and a global force for good.

The challenges and personal growth I experienced in college because of ROTC would not have been possible if I was a regular student. I am so grateful for finding my Husky family.

A Unique and Valuable Experience

Serving one's country through military service can provide college students with a unique and valuable experience that cannot be gained elsewhere. It can instill discipline, leadership skills, and a sense of purpose that can benefit students both personally and professionally. Additionally, military service can help to develop a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by those who serve in the armed forces. The University of Washington is one of the first six universities in the country to offer this opportunity.

Over the past 100+ years, more than 10,000 Huskies have answered their nation's call for service and sacrifice. Are you ready to be one of them?

I had the opportunity to be selected for a national service academy or join Husky ROTC. I am so glad I decided to be a Husky because my military training was broader and let me develop the life skills I will need when leading 18-24 years old worldwide. The Academy never would have afforded the same opportunities our Huskies have.
