Mathematics is a vast and vibrant enterprise with theory at its core. The Department of Mathematics at UW offers two undergraduate degree programs: Mathematics and Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences. The department also offers undergraduate courses to more than 15,000 non-majors annually. In addition to carrying out basic research, mathematics faculty and students collaborate on interdisciplinary projects with other UW departments, including Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and Engineering, Bioengineering, Genome Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.

Degrees offered: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Art, Master of Science, and PhD.
