Arrive Early and Start Strong with College Edge - Info Session
10:30 -11:15 am  |  Kane Hall
12:00 - 12:45 pm  |  Architecture Hall

Join us to learn about College Edge, an early-start academic program for incoming first-year and transfer students. College Edge is designed to help students move in early, get settled, and begin their academic journey with confidence through small, discussion-based courses offered before Autumn Quarter begins.

Students earn full UW academic credit in a condensed 5-credit course designed specifically for students just beginning their UW experience. Courses emphasize discussion, collaboration, and close interaction with faculty, along with built-in support to help students adjust to college-level learning. College Edge is a great fit both for students who feel excited and ready, and for those who are still figuring things out.

This year, College Edge will also include a light-touch introduction to artificial intelligence, supported by gesture, UW’s learning lab focused on learning, storytelling, and early career readiness. No prior AI experience is required. The focus is on thoughtful exploration and reflection, not technical skills.

College Edge helps students:

  • Dive in academically by completing a condensed 5-credit course before Autumn Quarter
  • Build community with peers and faculty in a small, supportive setting before campus fully fills up
  • Move in early with housing flexibility, with the option to stay in early housing or transition into a permanent room for the regular academic year
  • Get oriented to key UW resources, programs, and opportunities that support long-term success
  • Prepare for the future through exclusive access to gesture programming focused on learning, storytelling, and early career readiness

College Edge is designed to help students transition smoothly into Autumn Quarter with strong academic momentum, meaningful connections, and a clearer sense of belonging at UW.

Explore the 2026 course offerings and learn how to secure your spot.

Program registration opens April 1.
