Transforming the Classroom Experience in UW Biology

Faculty in the Department of Biology at the University of Washington are transforming the classroom experience for thousands of students. Through a progressive, evidence-based approach to teaching introductory STEM courses, they engage students as active participants in their learning. As a result, students are doing better, and the achievement gap in the sciences between underrepresented and majority students is closing.
